A local-first Chrome extension

Keep what matters from the web in one private library.

Mynotes brings together web highlights, annotations, personal notes, images, PDFs, and files—so the knowledge you collect online and the things you create yourself stay connected.

Your research should stay yours.

Mynotes works locally in Chrome by default. Your notes remain useful offline and are not sent to a Mynotes server.

  • Keep highlights and page notes with the page they came from.
  • Write standalone notes and attach images, PDFs, and other files.
  • Optionally sync your library through your own private Google Drive app-data folder.

A calmer way to collect, think, and return to ideas.

Mynotes is built for people who want a personal knowledge library, without scattering their work across a web clipper, a notes app, and a file manager.

Highlight and annotate

Mark useful text on webpages and PDFs, add comments, select a highlight color, and revisit everything from one notes view.

Make your own notes

Create free-standing notes with titles and tags. They appear alongside your web research, rather than in a separate silo.

Keep the original material

Save images from webpages and attach images, PDFs, and other files directly to a personal note. PDF attachments can be highlighted and annotated, too.

Find ideas again

Browse notes chronologically, search across your library, and use tags to bring related pages and personal notes together.

Optional private sync

Connect your Google account only if you choose. Mynotes syncs to Google Drive’s hidden app-data folder, not to a public shared workspace.

Local by default

Your library is stored in Chrome on your device. There is no Mynotes account to create and no developer-operated notes database.

Private by design, not by accident.

Notes, highlights, page information, and attachments stay in your browser’s local storage unless you actively connect Google Drive sync. Mynotes does not run a server that receives or stores the contents of your library.

No advertising profileMynotes does not use your notes or browsing activity for advertising.
Sync is your choiceGoogle Drive sync is optional and uses your own account.
Clear controlsYou can remove saved notes, attachments, and Google Drive access from the extension.
